Editorial reviews by builders, for builders.
CuratorBits is a Wirecutter-style, research-led review brand for the tools that builders, freelancers, and indie hackers actually ship with. Fewer picks, deeper research, durable trust.
Why CuratorBits exists
Most affiliate review content is a race to the bottom. SEO-optimized listicles regurgitate marketing copy without ever checking a source. "Best X for Y" pages get refreshed weekly with the same ten tools and the same shallow take. We've all read them. We've all hit the back button.
CuratorBits is the response. We don't publish a recommendation we can't stand behind. We build each review from the vendor's real terms, the most credible independent testing, and the consensus of long-term users — cross-checked and carried through the same framework. Then we write what the evidence actually supports — including the parts that don't flatter the product.
This means we publish fewer reviews than most affiliate sites. That's the point. Fewer picks, deeper research, durable trust.
What we cover
Our reviews span the tools builders actually use every day:
How we build a review
Every CuratorBits review follows the same research-led process:
- Credible evidence. We build each review from the vendor's real terms, the most credible independent testing, and the consensus of long-term users.
- Real comparison. Each review weighs the tool against the closest alternatives, carried through the same framework — not against a vague ideal.
- Sourced numbers. Where a figure matters (uptime, performance, pricing), we attribute it to a source you can verify and never present a number we can't source.
- Transparent verdict. Pros, cons, who it's actually for, who should look elsewhere. No hedging.
- Updated annually or when something changes. If a tool ships a major update or drops a feature the recommendation relied on, the review gets updated.

How we make money
CuratorBits is reader-supported. When you buy a product through one of our affiliate links, the brand pays us a commission — typically a percentage of the sale, sometimes a flat referral fee. This costs you nothing extra.
Affiliate commissions never influence which products we recommend or how we score them. We evaluate the tool first, write the review, then add the affiliate link at the end. We've published critical reviews of tools whose affiliate programs we participate in, and we'll continue to.
We also accept advertising and sponsored content (with prominent disclosure) and may add paid editorial features in the future. Any commercial relationship gets disclosed at the top of the relevant page in plain language — not buried in a footer.
Affiliate Disclosure
CuratorBits earns affiliate commissions when readers purchase through our links. We only recommend products after honest, independent evaluation. Disclosures comply with the U.S. FTC 16 CFR §255 endorsement guidelines and the EU Digital Services Act Article 26.
