This review is built from Shortcut Chat's own published pages — its homepage, plan table, FAQ, model directory and affiliate terms — and from every independent listing we could find, which for a product this new is not many. We have an affiliate relationship with Shortcut Chat through the Awin network: if you subscribe through a link here, CuratorBits may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That is why the gaps below come first rather than last. Everything was checked on 26 October 2026 (see Sources).

What Shortcut Chat actually is

Shortcut Chat is a browser-based AI chat app built around one idea: ask once, read several answers. You type a prompt, pick one, two or three models, and each answer streams into its own column. During a conversation you can drop a model or swap it for another. Its own copy puts the pitch plainly — every model "has a different voice, speed, and blind spot" — and the product exists to let you see those differences without copying a prompt between three tabs.

The second idea is shortcuts: saved snippets such as "keep it brief" or "cite sources" that you insert with a click or by typing / in the composer, and that can be stacked. The same works in image mode, where one prompt goes to up to three image models (Flux, Seedream, Gemini and others) and you keep the best result. The homepage also claims web search and file inputs.

The model list on the homepage covers frontier labs (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, xAI), open-source families (Meta, Mistral, DeepSeek, Qwen) and image models (Black Forest Labs, ByteDance, Google, OpenAI), with "new models land as they ship". Its /models page is a broader directory of 256 models from 33 providers, but it is a reference catalogue of API prices and benchmarks — it does not state that every entry is selectable inside the app, so don't read it as the in-app list.

Pricing: what you actually pay

Three paid plans, and the page opens on monthly billing. Switching the toggle to annual takes 10% off. The plans gate nothing but usage: "Pro, Pro+, and Ultra all unlock frontier labs, open source, and image models."

Shortcut Chat plans — per month, monthly billing

$20
Pro
1× usage
$40
Pro+
2× usage
$100
Ultra
5× usage

Monthly billing. Annual billing is 10% less: $216, $432 and $1,080 a year. Usage multiples are the vendor's own, relative to Pro.

Plan Monthly billing Annual billing What changes
Pro $20 / month $216 / year All models, up to 3 at once, unlimited shortcuts, image generation
Pro+ $40 / month $432 / year Same features, 2× Pro's usage allowance
Ultra $100 / month $1,080 / year Same features, 5× Pro's usage allowance

How usage works — and what isn't published. Each plan carries a monthly allowance that "ticks down" as you chat, shown as a percentage, and resets on the day you first subscribed. Heavier models use more of it, and the FAQ suggests including fewer model responses per prompt when you run low. When you hit the cap you wait or upgrade — "You won't get hit with overage charges." What Shortcut Chat does not publish is how many messages or images Pro actually buys, so you can't compare its allowance with ChatHub's stated query counts or with a single-vendor plan's limits before you pay.

No free plan, no trial. The plan list contains only paid tiers. You can "cancel anytime" and keep access to the end of the billing period, but there is no published refund policy, so treat the first $20 as the price of finding out.

The discount code. Shortcut Chat lists FRIEND5 on the Awin affiliate network, active until 31 December 2027: 5% off the first two months of a monthly plan, or 5% off the whole first year of an annual plan, for first-time customers, entered at checkout. On Pro that is $1 a month for two months, or $10.80 off a year — small, but real, and stated here exactly as the vendor lists it.

Where it's genuinely good

What works

  • One subscription for frontier, open-source and image models
  • Up to three answers side by side, models swappable mid-chat
  • Every plan unlocks every model — tiers only change usage
  • No overage charges; a visible usage meter instead
  • Stackable prompt shortcuts, by click or /
  • $20 entry — the price of one single-vendor plan

What doesn't

  • No free plan or trial
  • No published message or image counts per plan
  • No terms of service, refund policy or web-app privacy policy
  • Launched September 2026; almost no independent reviews
  • Three models per prompt; ChatHub allows six for less
  • Web only — no desktop or mobile app found

The strongest argument for Shortcut Chat is arithmetic. ChatGPT Plus is $20 a month, Claude Pro is $20 billed monthly ($17 on an annual plan) and Google AI Pro is $19.99. If you hold two or three of those mainly so you can check one model against another, a single $20 plan that reaches all three vendors — plus open-source and image models — is cheaper and removes the tab-juggling. The design choice that every tier gets every model is also a fair one: you never discover that the model you wanted is locked behind the next plan.

What it does not replace is each vendor's own app. Claude Pro, ChatGPT Plus and Google AI Pro bundle features beyond the chat window — desktop and mobile apps, coding agents, file storage, vendor-specific tools — that a third-party front end does not claim to offer. Shortcut Chat is a comparison and drafting tool, not a substitute for a tool you already depend on.

The honest gaps

  • No privacy policy or terms for the app you pay for. As of 26 October 2026, the only privacy policy on shortcutchat.com is titled "Privacy Policy for Shortcut Chat Chrome Extension" and covers a separate, free browser extension. There is no terms-of-service page and no policy saying how prompts are stored, how long, or which model providers receive them. For a tool whose job is to send your text to several AI companies at once, that is the single most important missing document. Until it exists, keep client data and anything confidential out of it.
  • Very little independent evidence. The domain was registered in May 2026 and the first public launch posts date from mid-September. We found one Hacker News submission (1 point, no comments), one ScrollLaunch listing (12 upvotes, no reviews) and no Product Hunt or Trustpilot profile. We could not check G2, Capterra or Reddit, which blocked automated access on the day. In short: nobody independent has yet reported on using it for months, and this review does not pretend otherwise.
  • Opaque allowance. "2× the Pro usage" is only useful if you know what Pro buys. It isn't published.
  • Three models per prompt. The plan cards and FAQ say up to three; ChatHub advertises six. (The /models page footer says "as many models as you like", which the plan cards contradict — we go with the plan cards.)
  • No team features, no apps. Nothing on the site mentions shared workspaces or team billing, and we found no iOS, Android or desktop app — it is a web app.

None of these is a sign the product is bad. They are what a new, small product looks like — and they are exactly the things a reader should know before paying for one.

How it compares

vs Option Published price Shortcut Chat wins Other wins
ChatHub Pro $19/mo monthly, $14.99/mo billed annually Simpler usage meter, no per-query counts; stackable shortcuts Up to 6 models at once, stated query allowances, iOS and Android apps, lower price
OpenRouter Chat Free tier (25+ free models); otherwise pay per use plus a 5.5% fee on credits Flat monthly price, no credit top-ups, shortcuts Side-by-side for free on free models; 500+ models; pay only for what you use
ChatGPT Plus / Claude Pro / Google AI Pro $20 / $20 ($17 annual) / $19.99 a month All vendors in one plan for the price of one Each vendor's full app: desktop and mobile, agents, files, published privacy terms

The honest positioning: Shortcut Chat is the simplest paid way to compare frontier models side by side, not the cheapest or the most capable. If you want the most models per prompt, ChatHub; if you want to pay nothing, OpenRouter's chat; if you mostly live in one vendor's ecosystem, stay with that vendor's own plan.

Who Shortcut Chat is for

  • People paying for two or three AI chat plans mainly to compare answers — one $20 plan replaces the overlap.
  • Writers, marketers and researchers who reuse the same instructions ("cite sources", "UK spelling", "under 120 words") and want them one click away.
  • Anyone choosing a model for a recurring task who wants to see the candidates answer the same prompt before committing to one vendor.

Skip it if you need to try before paying, if your prompts contain client or confidential data (until a privacy policy for the app is published), if you need team features or mobile apps, or if you want more than three models per prompt.

Bottom line

Shortcut Chat earns a 3.4/5. The product idea is sound and the pricing is honest in shape — every model on every plan, no overage bills, and a $20 entry that costs the same as one vendor's subscription. What it hasn't yet done is publish the documents a paying customer should be able to read: a privacy policy and terms for the app, a refund policy, and what the usage allowance actually buys. And it is too new for anyone independent to have reported on it at length. Worth a month if you already juggle several AI subscriptions — start on Pro, use code FRIEND5, keep confidential work out of it, and check back for the policies.

Common questions

How much does Shortcut Chat cost?

Three paid plans: Pro $20 a month, Pro+ $40 and Ultra $100, billed monthly. Annual billing takes 10% off, which makes them $216, $432 and $1,080 a year. All three include every model; the difference is the monthly usage allowance, with Pro+ giving twice Pro's usage and Ultra five times. Prices checked on shortcutchat.com on 26 October 2026.

Is there a free plan or free trial?

No. Shortcut Chat lists only paid plans and offers no trial. You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the billing period, but it publishes no refund policy, so treat the first month as the cost of finding out whether it fits.

Which AI models does Shortcut Chat include?

Its homepage lists frontier models from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google and xAI; open-source models from Meta, Mistral, DeepSeek and Qwen; and image models from Black Forest Labs (Flux), ByteDance (Seedream), Google and OpenAI. All plans include all of them. Heavier models use more of your monthly allowance.

Is there a Shortcut Chat discount code?

Yes. FRIEND5 is listed on the Awin affiliate network as active until 31 December 2027: 5% off the first two months on a monthly plan, or 5% off the full year on an annual plan, for first-time customers only, entered at checkout. Source: Shortcut Chat's Awin promotion listing and its affiliate welcome note, read 26 October 2026.

Is Shortcut Chat safe for confidential work?

Not on the evidence available today. As of 26 October 2026 the only privacy policy on shortcutchat.com covers the company's separate Chrome extension, and there are no published terms of service for the web app, so it does not say how prompts are stored or which model providers receive them. Keep client data and anything confidential out of it until that is published.

Is Shortcut Chat better than ChatHub?

On the published numbers, ChatHub offers more for less: up to six models at once and a Pro plan at $19 monthly or $14.99 a month billed annually, against Shortcut Chat's three models at $20. Shortcut Chat's pitch is simplicity: one usage meter with no per-query counts and no overage charges, plus stackable prompt shortcuts. Compare the two plan pages directly before paying.

Every Shortcut Chat price, plan feature and policy statement here was read on Shortcut Chat's own pages on 26 October 2026; the other vendors' prices are sourced and dated in the last entry below. The pricing table opens on monthly billing; the annual figures were read from the same page's annual state ($216, $432 and $1,080 a year, "Annual 10% off"). Vendors change these without notice — if a figure here disagrees with the vendor today, the vendor is right.

Read 26 October 2026: ChatHub Pro $19 a month, or $14.99 a month billed annually, and Unlimited $39; Claude Pro $17 a month on an annual plan, $20 billed monthly; Google AI Pro $19.99 a month. ChatGPT's pricing page shows no amount to an automated reader, so ChatGPT Plus is sourced to OpenAI's help centre, What is ChatGPT Plus?: “$20/month (billed monthly)”, read the same day.

Negative results, recorded so they are not mistaken for oversights. On 26 October 2026 we found no Product Hunt page, no Trustpilot profile, no blog or changelog, no named legal entity on the site, and no iOS, Android or desktop app. G2, Capterra and Reddit could not be checked that day. If any of that changes, this page should change with it.
